All cities have occasional free activity to do and often the most common is to sit on a seat and watch the world go by and the local lifestyle, but modern cities are a bit dangerous for so thinking flaneur Paris here’s a Top 5 of free activities (and safe) to:
1. Visit Pere Lachaise Cemetery. It is easily reached by subway and we ur a Sunday morning. It is a quiet place and you can get a map to find the graves of the famous buried here: Frederic Chopin, Jim Morrison, Marcel Proust and Oscar Wilde, for example.
2. Free movies at Parc de la Villette, a 86-acre park in the suburbs where there are music festivals, street art, and in summer, film screenings without paying a penny. You arrive by subway, take line 5 to Porte de Pantin.
3. Go to the beach. Between July and August will be sand on the banks of the Seine from Ile St.Lois to the Jardin des Tuileries. It is filled with umbrellas, people, concerts, picnics, bicycles and more.
4. Fashion. Paris is the capital of fashion and the streets one can get lost watching as the world’s richest people spend much money on clothes on the Rue du Faubourg St. Honore.
